Merlin Griffith's Fun in the Sun Cocktails! Rose Garden Spritz, Sexy Beast and Super Sangrita! Easy to make and a great addition to your cocktail menu!
Ingreadient :
40ml Chase Grapefruit & Pomelo Gin
20ml Cointreau
Juice of half a lime
Fentimans Rose Lemonade
Grapefruit twist
40ml Vanilla vodka (Cariel / Absolut)
20ml Funkin’ Passion Fruit Puree
20ml Passion fruit sherbet syrup (I’ll make it and bring along)
10ml Fresh lime
10ml Passoa
50ml Prosecco
50ml beetroot juice, strained (Juice from either fresh beets or ready packed beets)
Juice of ONE fresh orange (90-100ml)
Juice of ONE fresh lime (25-35ml)
Juice of ONE fresh pink grapefruit (75-100ml)
small pinch of sea salt
2-3 dashes Cholula hot sauce (more if you like it spicy!)
1-2 level tsp chipotle powder (smoked and dried jalapeno peppers) to taste
Direction :
Shake all except the Rose Lemonade and strain into an ice filled red wine glass or highball, top with Rose Lemonade and a large grapefruit twist.
Large wine goblet / Burgundy glass – crushed ice
Build all in glass, fill and crown with crushed ice, garnish with quarter passion fruit and mint tips, straw
The passion fruit sherbet can be substituted for shop bought passion fruit syrup, likewise, passion fruit coulis can be bought in the shops too to replace the puree. To add the extra zing a pinch of “lemon salt” aka citric acid, can be used.
Blend all ingredients until smooth, strain into a jug or bottle and chill before use. This recipe is all about personal preference so please adjust the spices to your desired levels when making at home. Start with less and add small amounts until it tastes the way you like it.
Serve next to a finger of Mezcal or 100% Agave Tequila, optional smoked salt rim.
